Book Review: Kingdom’s Dawn…and Giveaway *CLOSED*

Last month I read Kingdom’s Dawn by Chuck Black. This is a YA fiction that I would whole-heartedly recommend to everyone.

Chuck Black has written two series…both of which are very clear biblical allegories. In a sense, Chuck Black is offering a retelling of the biblical story but set in medieval times with knights.

In Kingdom’s Dawn, Chuck Black addresses the topic of faithful loyalty in service to the King…even when (or perhaps especially when) the King seems far away. Leinad has been chosen to prepare the way for the King to come and he sets out to accomplish his task.

But it’s not easy; even though he has a message from the king, the people won’t listen. Even though he obeys what the king has told him to do, Leinad still finds himself sold into slavery. At several points in the book, Leinad questions his purpose and faces the thought that he has failed the King. But Leinad always returns to his trust of the King and continues serving the King despite the obstacles.

This book is worth reading because it highlights profound, biblical truths. It portrays loyalty and faithfulness to God as the characteristics of a true man. It paints a picture of the hardships and the rewards of serving the King.

I have enjoyed the two Chuck Black books so much that I am excited about offering a giveaway of one of his books. Last year I read and reviewed Sir Rowan and the Camerian Conquest. I have an extra copy of Sir Rowan that I would like to give to one of the readers of our blog.
