ModPodge Candle

My Christmas gifts this year were not handmade…except for one. This is definitely not an original idea; I saw this idea on several different blogs (although I don’t remember which ones).

I saw the idea for this cute candle and immediately filed it away. I thought I would make some for Carrie next Christmas but when I was at Goodwill the week before Christmas, I found the perfect plastic cup for $0.69. At that moment, I decided to make the candle for Carrie this Christmas.

So I gathered the supplies and set to work. I mixed the epsom salt and some glitter, put a thin layer of mod podge all over the plastic cup, and then applied the salt/glitter mixture. It turned out beautifully…and Carrie loved it.

It’s difficult to see the glittery look in this picture…but the candle is really rather striking when lit.
