A Child’s Book of Character Building

My mom found this book for me at a used curriculum sale. I was thrilled when she gave it to me, although it has spent most its time just sitting on my shelf. However, last night we brought it out and Tim read a story on thankfulness during our Bible time last night.

It’s easy to say we need to be thankful, but hard to actually live out. I wanted to give the boys (Drew especially) an example of how they could practically be thankful. The story Tim picked to read to us was about a little boy who complained that he was bored with the new toys he had received for his birthday. His mom lovingly explained to him why he should be grateful for the things he’s been given.

Did the story stick with Drew? I’m not sure. 🙂 However, I’m going to be looking for little ways he can show thankfulness throughout the day. Hopefully, even if he forgets the story, he will learn what the story taught.
