Thankfulness Chain

Last night, Tim came home and wanted to teach Drew how to make a paper chain so that we could use it to introduce the concept of time to him. When I heard his plan, I suggested that we turn it into a Thanksgiving chain. πŸ™‚

So, Tim helped Drew draw pictures of things he’s thankful to God for. Things like cars, dogs, his bedΒ and playing Wii at Grandma’s house. πŸ™‚ Once all of our pictures were drawn Tim showed Drew how to make a paper chain using Scotch tape. Of course, Drew had tons of fun pulling tape out of the dispenser. πŸ™‚

After our chain was completed, we taped it to the living room wall. Tim explained to Drew that every morning after breakfast he could take one chain off and when all the chains are gone we’ll go out for ice cream.

This morning when he got up he definitely remembered the ice cream part and was disappointed that he couldn’t take all of the chains off the wall. πŸ™‚ Hopefully, he’ll start getting the hang of this as the chain slowly gets smaller…only six left! πŸ™‚

Oh I love paper chains! Although I think Lula Mae would do the same thing…. wanting to take them all away at one time just to get the prize. Patience is SUPER tough to teach πŸ˜‰
