Letter C

We took last week off from “school” because we had out-of-town family visiting. It was a fun week and now we’re ready to hit the road running with the Letter C.

Weekly Bible Verse
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 1:27

My mom made this ABC book for Drew over a year ago and we haven’t done too much with it. However, this morning I grabbed it and we reviewed A and B and learned about C. Drew had fun. I would point to the letter and then the object on the page and he would say the name. He also had fun tracing the letter C with his finger.

We watched these two videos about the letter C.
Hooked on Phonics
Cookie Monster

And after we watched the Cookie Monster video, I gave each of the boys a cookie to snack on. 🙂

We started off by writing C on a blank piece of paper. Then we flipped the paper over. I wrote down some C words and Drew found and circled the letter C. We did…Carter, car, Caleb, character, clothes and December. Usually this is one of Drew’s favorite activities, but he wasn’t too interested this time.

So we sat on the couch and read The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss. After reading a page, I asked him to find an A, B or C to review what we had learned in previous weeks.

I wrote out our Bible verse on a blank piece of paper. We talked about what it meant and then Drew found and circled the Cs. And then he decorated and colored it. He would ask me to draw hearts and then he colored them. And then we flipped the paper over and on the back we wrote down family members names and talked about how God made each one of them.

Thursday – Friday Once again we didn’t do any “school” these two days, although I was planning too. Unfortunately, I got sick and that ruined all of my good intentions. 🙂
