Picnic at the Park

Last Tuesday, Tim and I (and Drew and Carter!) spent the evening with Caleb and Anna (Tim’s younger siblings) while Dad and Mom went out. We wanted to plan a fun evening for the children, but we didn’t want to take them someplace that would entice us to spend money. ๐Ÿ™‚ So we decided to take our dinner to the park. ๐Ÿ™‚

I had planned to make an orientalย meal (chicken and fried rice) for dinner that night…not normal picnic fare. ๐Ÿ™‚ However it was easy to make and pack up in tupperware containers. However, as Tim put it…by the time we got to the park the “first bite was lukewarm and the second bite was freezing”. Ok…so maybe next time I’ll decide to make sandwiches. ๐Ÿ™‚

The park we went to is a new one that just opened up a few weeks ago. The boys had a great time playing on the toys, sliding down the slides and running around. ๐Ÿ™‚

So…despite the cold food and the sharp wind, we had a great time playing together. Our somewhat impromptu decision led us to make some great family memories…and after the park we came home and watched the old Davy Crockett movie with Fess Parker…one of my favorite movies. ๐Ÿ™‚
