Cooking Through Taste of Home

It seems to be the time for us to embark on new adventures. First we started our 101 lists on January 1 and now, thanks to the inspiration of Julie and Julia we have decided that we too want to cook through a cookbook. 🙂 It’s not going to be Julia Childs. We’re not setting ourselves a goal of completing it in one year. In fact, we aren’t even giving ourselves a deadline. This is going to be a fun experience…moving along at an enjoyable rate. 🙂

So instead of The Joy of French Cooking we decided to use one of Taste of Home’s annual cookbooks. We’ve both enjoyed *most* of their recipes we have tried so it seemed like a good choice.

We’re starting off with a bang this weekend. This morning we woke up and decided to make Banana Oat Pancakes. This was definitely a quick and easy recipe to mix up, however, it did not have a lot of flavor by itself. If we make these again we would want to serve it with maple syrup or some kind of fruit sauce.

Tonight is the premiere of one of our favorite tv shows. Melinda is out here visiting us and we’re planning quite a feast for this evening. On our menu…

Citrus Iced Tea
Herbed Deviled Eggs
Garden Fresh Bruschetta
Chicken Poppers
Buffalo Chicken Wraps
Decadent Brownie Pie
Granola Fudge Clusters

So we’re excited about the evening we have planned. We’ll post an update and reviews on the above recipes soon! 🙂
