Christmas Baking

Yesterday we had a fun day filled with Christmas baking. There were six of us in the kitchen…measuring, mixing, tasting, rolling, baking and cleaning. After four hours of work we ended up with some tasty treats. Baking beautiful cookies gets you in the holiday spirit!

Originally called “Magic in the Middle Cookies” we renamed them Peanut Butter Surprise Cookies. πŸ™‚ Whatever they are called the combination of peanut butter and chocolate is always a winner.

I have seen this recipe floating around recently, so when it came time to plan our baking day I knew we had to make these Oreo Bon Bons! We just coated them in milk chocolate…no strange colors. πŸ™‚

This is such an easy “candy” recipe and it tastes sooooo good! Who would have thought that Saltine crackers could make such a delicious dessert as Saltine Toffee Candy?

And no plate of holiday cookies would be with same without these peanut butter cookies! Once again, peanut butter and chocolate is an inseparable combination!

We also made some basic sugar cookies. Drew had fun experimenting with the different shapes of cookie cutters, although transferring the shapes to the cookie sheets was rather detrimental to their aesthetic value. But…they were the cutest sugar cookies ever made!!
