I’m sure there have been many blog posts extolling the virtues of Crystal’s 30-minute pizza dough recipe. So I’ll add my opinion to all the others.
One of our favorite meals is homemade pizza. I had a very good pizza dough recipe. The only problem was that it took a couple of hours…from mixing to keading to rising to baking. And it was a lot of work for a weekly pizza night! And so homemade pizza didn’t make it on our menu plan as often as we would have liked. Eventually I tried Crystal’s recipe and it was a definite hit! It was quick, easy and delicious! And I only make one change…I triple the sugar. (Yes, I know that sounds awful…but in all reality tripling the sugar only means putting in 1 tablespoon versus 1 teaspoon.
) And it tastes remarkably similar to our previous favorite.
Now pizza night can be a weekly event…and it isn’t too much work!
But this dough should in all reality be called 30-minute all purpose dough! Not only does it make outstanding pizza…but you can also make cinnamon rolls and bread bowls!
To make cinnamon rolls, make Crystal’s dough according to the instructions. Roll out into a large rectagle. Spread melted butter over the dough. Sprinkled cinnamon and sugar over the butter. Roll up and cut into 1 inch slices. Bake for about 15 minutes. Make a simple glaze with powdered sugar, milk and vanilla to drizzle over the top. Yummy!
It’s very easy to make these bread bowls. One of Crystal’s recipes make three bread bowls. Make the dough according to the instructions and then divide the dough into three balls. Pop them in the oven for 15 minutes. The tops were a little crusty when they came out of the oven, so I put sprinkled some water in a Ziploc bag and popped them in. The tops were nice and soft when we were ready to use them.
This dough definitely works for me!
